NAIDOC week

In the early 1900’s a group of Aboriginal activists boycotted Australia Day to raise awareness of the inequality experienced by Aboriginal Australians and held a National Day of Mourning. Today, NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
